compact flourescent: wattage

greetings,

here's a quickie. i'm currently running the ubiquitous coralife compact flourescent hood that houses two 65w bulbs, with 2 independent power ac plugs. i plan on replacing the actinic bulb with a 6500k that a friend gave me. the catch is, the new bulb is rated at 55w only. can i use it safely in this fixture?
