Help fish in my tank are getting ripped apart!!!

If I had to make a guess I would say the tiger barb is the culprit. They are quite nippy and prefer to be in groups of 6 or more. A single tiger barb will take his nippiness out on other fish without other tiger barbs to pick on. Albino rainbow sharks are also listed as semi-aggressive and could possibly be the problem, but I have never noticed mine picking on any other fish at all. My tiger barbs on the other hand.....

You should probably look at returning the barb to your LFS since you don't have room int he tank for a shoal of 6, and the rest of your fish are really peaceful community fish for the most part.

Oh wait, I just saw that you listed red fin, is that the Honduran Red Fin as shown here http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/306.htm? If so, they can be territorial and you may not have enough space for them. Try to keep an eye on your tank to figure out which of the above fish is the culprit.

I would lean toward the barb then. With only one he is probably picking on all the other fish, they really need to be in a group of 6 or more to be happy, and that only reduce their tendancy to pick on other fish, not eliminate it. Most of your other fish are classified as peacful community fish, barbs are semi-aggressive and need to be kept with other fish that are semi-aggressive as well. Your shrimp is a filter feeder, he is pretty much incapable of harming other fish. I have the same shrimp (also called bamboo shrimp from what I can figure out) and he is very peaceful, mine lives with a betta.

I definitely think it is the barb, especially a lone one.

The "little" fish probably didn't slaughter your flying fox, If the fox was dead all the fish probably just nibbled on it. I agree with everyone else that the barb was the most likely culprit. You also said the tank was a hex. Those tanks are awful the fish will never be able to get away from the aggresor because of the shape.

Serpaes I've heard cen be a little nippy, but the barb is the most likely culprit.

I've seen firsthand what happens. The aggressive lone barb will harry and chase a fish until it dies of exhaustion. Although I've kept a lone barb with success it was the biggest fish in the tank and the other fish (white clouds) were too small and fast for it to catch.

The singapore shrimp could not kill a fish on any reasonable size (they are filter feeders), unless you got it mislabeled. Does it have claws or fans on it's front legs?
