Hi all! New here.

I've got a bit of a hefty tank project coming up in a few months (short version, current tank too small for rapidly growing fish, upcoming house move being used as an excuse to go crazy and get a huge tank!), and I need to design a suitable stand.

The tank will be 96"l x 36"d x 30"h (so around 380g UK, 450g US). The stand I'm thinking the same size, 30" high. So it's got to be very strong! It'll need underneath access - the tank will be filtered by a pond filter, though I don't know how big it'll be yet, things are still definitely at the planning stage!

Hi kova,

I used the instructions here to build the stand for my 125-gallon tank.

I bought 10-foot long 4x4 (not treated) about $16 for the stand's legs. Each of them is 30 inches long. It takes few hours to cut those notch. However, it is worth to do that. :)

Thanks for that, perfect! My dad was talking about welding up a metal stand yesterday (I think because my 60g is on a metal bracer and is perfectly sturdy), but I'd really rather do it in wood - easier to clear the sawdust and I prefer the look. Plus I don't know how to weld!
