I saw it..I can't believe anyone would do this...LOL

they have them at one of the LFS's..funny looking things they are.

it looks like someone mixed blue with another more round fish.

my wife thought they were cute..personally I thought it just wasn't right.

they do kind of have that bristle nosed cuteness to them tho... :D

The weird thing about "Balloon Rams", to me, is that the natural form is just so beautiful. I don't see how *anybody* would consider the "Balloon" form to be an improvement on the original.

That's just me, though. A nice looking Ram can go head to head with any other fish, marine or freshwater, and hold its own in terms of beauty.

Some people think clipping the fins off fish makes them "more asthetically apealing". IMO, people who like these overly mutated/dyed/selictvely bred fish, are not real fishkeepers at all and probably sell all there fish every six months becuase there bored of the fish they have or don't like the fish they have (should have thought of those things before purchasing the fish in the first place).

The balloon rams I've seen bob around in the water like corks - poor things!

these actually swam around pretty normal...I do believe that the blue rams are one of the most beautiful species out there.

these just struck me as odd looking .especially when you consider the shape and form of the natural species.

I have to agree with the general opinion - I can't stand most of the 'selective breeding' results out there - especially balloon fish or elongated fins on anything but Angels or livebearers. and 'painted' fish make me want to go to Thailand with a years supply of tatoo ink and show them what it's like.

I have a LFS here that just wont get the hint about painted glassfish, and more recently, painted parrots(hybrid parrots) - theyre just plain disgusting.
