I have 7 goldfish of various varieties in a 10g tank they are 2-3" each except for one which is 4-5". Should I buy another 10g and split them up?

For goldfish, the general rule of thumb is that they need a minimum or 15 gallons each. There are several different viewpoints ont his, but that is roughtly the average of what I have read/heard. I have 3 myself in a 10G and am trying to figure out what to do with them. I just started this hobby myself and the first thing I learned is goldfish are badly mis-represented as beginner fish that can be kept in small bowls. They are fish that produce a lot of waste and get quite large. If kept in small enclosures they will be stunted and die much earlier than if they are kept in nice large tanks or ponds. These are fish capable of living 20+ years.
A. Bring all of your goldfish back to the store unless you plan on buying much larger tanks.
B. Research to find out what fish will fit in your tank.

Its kinda funny, i know alot of people and they refer to any small glass bowl as "A goldfish bowl"
Why not the guys at the fair kept them a bowl and it was even smaller than mine. ha :duh:

if you want to continue keeping goldfish without spending thousands of bucks, i'd suggest returning all but one, and getting that one a nice 30 or 40 gallon tank to himself.
