I'm going to get a or a couple African dwarf frogs. Would it be better to get one or 2.

I would get 2. The ADF's I've had have been very social with each other. They seem to like company.

yeah, get 2. I have one in a community tank with some neons and platies, but he's getting his own place pretty soon, and a room mate.
