what are your specifics? tank size, how long set up, how many and what kind of fish, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels.

it is hard to recommend a treatment if we don't know your tank parameters. many times diseases are due to a weakened immune system from stress. it's best to eliminate the cause of stress first, otherwise any treatment will probably weaken your fish further.

sounds like your fish has popeye. try searching for it on google to find a cure.

popeye can be caused by a wide range of things (excess gas, bacteria, trauma, viruses), so treatment is very difficult without knowing some background. popeye is often reversible (the fish will heal on its own) if you take care of the original cause of it. but there's no need to medicate if you're not sure what is causing the symptom in the first place.

Did you cycle the new tank? Some water from the original tank will help, but the nitrifying bacteria mostly live on surfaces like gravel, BioFoam, decorations, and the tank itself. If you could get your water tested (either buy your own liquid test kit -strips are very unreliable- or have the store do it), I'm guessing you will find ammonia and probably some nitrite. Those two are very toxic to fish.

Fighting, in and of itself, will not cause popeye but makes it and other diseases/symptoms come out, which your fish would normally fight off if it were healthy. So, yes, biting from the other fishes could have also exacerbated the infection, but my guess is that the water quality is the major cause.

If the biting is very bad, you may have to separate the gouramis and angel permanently. I don't have any experience with those two kinds of fish, so I can't tell you about their general compatibility. Perhaps someone else could help with that.
