I have wanted to set up and salt water tank for a long time for a lionfish. However I had only knew about the Volitan that gets quite large. From what I have found, Antennata Lionfish get around 7 inches.

I'm getting a 75 gallon aquarium and I'm curious if one of these guys would be ok in here. I'm not intending to have anymore fish, just decorate it with probably fake decor. However my girlfriend really likes starfish. After reading up on them they seem quite hard to care for. Is that so? Could I keep one with a lion someday in a fake decor tank? Or do they need live rock?

They only experience I have with saltwater was keeping some damsels in a 30 gallon for about 2 months. They didn't die but I had to take down the tank.

Antennata Lionfish are in fact smaller than other lions. Research says 30 gallon minimum so a 75 should be OK depending upon who his tank mates are. As far a starfish goes....it depends on what kind.......blue linkia's are nortoriously difficult to acclimate and live rock is a must. However I have kept a chocolate chip with decorative coral and he did fine. I did have to ocassionally hand feed him. Depends on the starfish....so research what kind you want to have
