I just bought a 125 gal (72x22x18). I curently have a 3 1/2 inch RD and 2 1/2 inch JD. After the 125 is done cycling (fishless), I would love to add a GT in there with them. I figure if I add enough hiding places for the JD and GT, they should be ok. Any thoughts?

Here is what I am currently running.

Fluval 304
2 AC 300
AC powerhead 50 w/ quick filter
1 250 Visa Therm heater
1 250 Jager heater
100+ Napa Wall rock
200 lbs of sand
Driftwood

A 125 is big enough for the three to exist. IMO, the Red Devil will be the most aggressive in the tank. Provide plenty of rocky caves and you should have a decent amount of peace in the tank.

Sounds like a cool tank. Like jagar said the RD will most likely be the most aggressive in the tank. If he ends up being a bully I would trade him in for a blue dempsey, texas, or firemouth....but thats just me.

onepawn... thank's for the offer but I live in Northern California  . I found some 2.5" GT's with the red tip fins in my area for about $7.99. Looks like I will be making my purchase soon. I'm planning to make an eggcrate divider for my tank just in case things don't go well with my RD. I will post pics of the tank once everything is in place. BTW, is having the 2 AC 300 enough or should I upgrade to 2 AC 500's?

Thanks again!

I have to agree with the top replys. You should be fine with the RD being the most agressive. If you have to make a traid I woud traid the RD for the EB Dempsey as well.

Sounds like you have an awsome tank.

make sure the terror is a bit bigger in my experience they grow slower and the other two may give a little chase if he is too small. It would defenately workin any case.

Good idea. Once I transfer the RD and JD over, I'll have a 50 gal where the RD was in. I can use this to house the GT for a while.

Thanks cylon. This will be my first semi "monster" tank. :D

I always wanted a EBJD. Might get one later after the GT is up to par to be placed in the 125. Then I'll have a 50 gal available to play around with.

Good luck sounds like a nice setup I have a turquoise serevum jack dempsey a gt and a jag in the same size tank I have had them sense they were all 1 inch or so they do well and dont fight suprisingly a little chase now and then. My terror is the smallest so I am always trying to hand feed him.

Just make sure to turn your water volume over 5-7 times an hour it looks like what you have is good for now. over filteration is always better in my opinion, If there is such thing.
