OMG aggressive molly!

I came home today and found that one of my smaller (2 inch) female black molly was half dead and a larger (3 in) silver/dalmation female molly was chewing on it

.....Not that it was eating it cuz the black molly was still intact but the black scales were pretty much all nipped off! :sad: i know they can get a bit aggressive if theres too much males so i only have 1 male:4female. Geeeez that silver molly is getting b*tchy ??

Its sort of scary to look at her now cuz her lips are stained with blood!!! its tinted red!

Same thing happened to me. I bought a new female silver mollie and it kept nipping at my male dalmation mollie on the first day. I thought it would stop, but it didn't. The next morning my male molly was dead.

I had to return the female to the store I got it from. It was too aggressive.

Can't tell because you don't list specific numbers in your sig, but you sound like you are a little overstocked. Mollies and pretty much any livebearer in my experience will get nippy in an overcrowded tank.

I have seen a similar thing happen when I had just 2 Black Mollies, both female. When I increased the number to 8 the aggression spread out and was next to not noticable.
