Surprisingly, I went to walmart to look at their fish. (it was like 12 o'clock at night. The reason I went their is to get a center piece fish. (gourami.)I wanted a centerpiece fish because everytime I added a petsmart female guppy, it died of a sickness it had in the petsmart tank (   ) My other guppys and zebras were fine. I looked at walmarts fish and they were suprisingly healthy....A matter of fact, they put the male and female guppies together in the same tank, and their were 30 fry swimming around! Un eaten! it was so cute! Well I got this very cute female guppy that has a beautiful orange/black/white pattern tail with black dots on it.Shes very healthy and my males already flirting. :) I have changed my mind about walmarts fish, atleast for that store, for now. :)

Every chain store has good and bad fish section depending on location and who runs it. My local petco used to have an awesome fish section always clean and healthy. The guy that was in charge left about 6 months ago and its gone to heck dead fish all the time. So I never judge a whole chain just particular stores.

I agree , although some petco people mislead me into thinking a single goldfish was fine in a 5g. Pour goldy

wish that was the case for my walmart, they will put any fish with any other fish and never take out dead fish, oh and put two male bettas together in those tiny cups, i could go on and on....

yeah, you're darn lucky to have a good wal-mart. even the best one where I live regularly has tons of dead fish floating around.... (SHUDDER)....

yeah, i have a wal-mart complaint as well... rough handling with my tank (they were kicking it up onto the cart), umm... one of the girls (who was supposedly department manager) telling me that one of the oscars "has a cute little hole in his head"... oh, how about a dead/dying oscar laying on his side floating at the top of the same tank (still barely breathing, but not moving) along with several other oscars... luckily, there are two other stores close by here that i can trust... pampered pets and animals & things... PP has a small, but very unique selection of both fresh and saltwater fish, and A&T offers that if anything happens to the fish within a few days, they'll replace it or give your money back... also, they'll take in fish that have outgrown the owner's tank (someone brought in a fullgrown oscar and that very same day another guy came in and bought the same one!) another thing i like about A&T is that they actually decorate their tanks... most other fishstores i've ever seen just has a bunch of fish in a bare tank.. this place actually gives you inspiration
