Really I don't know that any should be housed together, they are all aggressive fish, I know so far you have had no problems but I would imagine in the future you will.
Size wise the oscar requires a 55 itself, the pacu I believe requires like 180g, I don't know which "shark" you have but most get really big requiring like 125-300g depending on what you have. These are just to start with...They have a species profile here maybe go there and see if you can find your fish. The cichlid would be fine in your 55 along with some other cichlids or tank mates, or the oscar...well he will in the end eat any tankmate that is smaller than him as far as I know. The pleco I don't know what you have some can get extreamly large.
I've learned all this the hard way too...not the same fish as you but ended up with alot of fish that would grow WAY to large for thier tanks, and the whole aquairum salt thing.

Wow...I wasn't thinking...I had leopard puffers and figure 8 puffers. The tiger barb will continue to be aggressive. Definately a fish I stay away from personally.

Tank 1: Oscar, Pacu & maybe pleco depending on size. Oscars and Pacus get very big very quick. See sticky regarding Pacu that had to be euthanized. 55 gal will be outgrown quickly.

Tank 2: Clown loach and pleco maybe. Clown loaches can also become very large.

Also keep in mind that Oscars can eat fish that are smaller than they are. Pacus are mainly herbivores.

The african cyclid doesn't fit. I did keep two with my Oscar for a long time when I got rid of my African tank. My Oscar didn't bother them so you might be able to do Oscar, Pacu, Pleco, Cyclid & Puffer. The puffer will definately become Marine at some point.

Good luck

Personaly, I don't think the pacu & oscar in a 55g is a good idea and definatly not with the pleco (I could be wrong), but if the pacu requires a 180g and the oscar 55 then that doesn't seem like it would work out :) I'm sure someone will chime in and let you know more, I'm pretty much a neb to things also, I'd like to know which shark you have?

IMO: if you want the oscar, you are going to need to get rid of the others, the pacu will have to move to a larger tank no matter what. If you want to keep it anyway...that is what I've had to do with my bala sharks, they have gone from a 29-30-55 and now getting ready to move to a 75 until I can get the 125 around January/Febuary...if I happen upon a cheap 80-125 before then I'll move em up to that, just keep an eye out for good deals, they do come along and there are many here in the classified's if you keep looking you may find something.

Again good luck...it's not easy when you really want the fish you have and have been misinformed from the begining (you still are better off then I was when I started out...OMG you wouldn't believe what all I ended up with!)

Woah! Pacu Can getup to 20"! Get it out of that tank!
