Aqauclear 30 just stopped working - Problem Fixed

Ok, in a serious predicament here....

I have an Aquaclear 30 running on my 29 Gallon tank which has been running since June 10th... brand new equipment, and filter did not come in a starter kit, it was purchased seperately.

Today, I decide I'm going to change the Carbon in the filter, as I have not changed anything up to this point and its now about the 2 month mark.

I unplug the filter, take out the inserts by the plastic thing they are all in, remove the carbon and insert a new one... put it back into the filter, fill it up with water from the tank and plug it in.... nothing.

The filter is not working, not making a noise at all... its just as if it was unplugged...

Theres no water at all on the motor, or outer sides of the filter... I was extremely cautious of this and I've checked since trying to plug it in.

Did the motor of this filter burn out after only 2 months of use? Aquaclear was supposed to be a good brand.

I do not have the money to go out and buy a new filter for weeks to come.... so what am I supposed to do here... what could have happened with my filter?

Manufacturers warranty or anything?

Help please.... :help:

Try taking the motor off then take the impellor out and swab it out with a q-tip.

Be sure you have water in the filter before you restart it.

I have had mt ac's for two years with no problems what so ever.

HTH.

Thanks for the advice... I didn't think it could be the motor plugged up, but I completely removed it and pulled out the motor, there wasn't anything clogging it but I re-assembled it and plugged it in.. and its working.

Appreciate the replies, Ninja I did put water into the tank before I plugged it back in.

Thanks

Sometimes its as easy as just lifting the intake tube.

I have noticed on ACs more than any other filter that you need to clean the impellor area or they won't restart after a power outage. Not a knock on AC, still my favorite HOB.
