The German Blue ram is so pretty! I am now thinking I should get him instead of the powder blue.

Right now I just have 3 male guppies and will be adding 4 panda cories IF I can ever find some.

My PH is around 7.2 and both of these fish profiles mention a ph of 6.8. Do I need to lower my ph? Will adding drift wood help?

Thanks guys and gals!! :D

no you do not need to adjust the pH. you will need to change water weekly--at 50%. keep nitrates low.

add plants--stuff to hide in--not caves.

the rams can be sensitive, so adding a decent amoutn of bogwood would help lower the pH and soften the water. the wood, clumps of plants, and some rockwork will provide enough hiding places to keep them comfortable. unless you are talking about dwarf gouramis they arent even an option in a 10 gallon. a single pair of rams would be fine. what filter do you have on there?

I am talking about a single Dwarf or a single Ram
The filter is a topfin 10.

Why plants Vs. caves to hide in??? Aren't hiding spots, hiding spots?

Both are very pretty fish. The German Blue Ram will stay near the bottom of the tank and will like soft water.

The dwarf gourami will use more of the tank and will be comfortable in more moderate water.

How hard is your water?

You have fairly neatral ph, I would not try to alter it. A dwarf gourami would be fine with ph of 7.2 and the ram could be acclimated to it.

I think I would get the gourami if you are also going to get some cories. He will provide active color to the whole of your tank.

I have bolivian rams I have caves and plants..the bolivians prefer the plants to the caves but use the caves to spawn on.

if they aren;t spawning..they hang in the plants.

If you add 4 Panda Corys then you will be maxed out for stocking levels on a 10 Gallon.

Your right. I missed the word male next to the 3 guppies. I was thinkin that those guppies will pop out babies and that little tank will be ready to burst.
