I posted this one at AB too........why not ??
On a whim......I removed some eggs from my latest juvie pair......I now have a cluster of little free swimming baby rams.
Thought I would post about it, if someone who has a pair of rams and would be interested in one person's proceedure for doing this......
When I first removed the eggs I put them in a small container and floated it in the main tank with an airstone. I used water from the tank they came from to fill the container. I actually used the container itself to scoop the eggs out of the substrate.
Since the container was so small (about the size of a 16 oz butter dish) the airstone keeps the water moving over the eggs. I removed them to a larger floating pet tote after they became free swimming. I plan on moving them over to my 20 hex fry tank at some point. I still have to get my act together and get those stapp juvies to the lfs
Here's a few pics...........this is the larger pet tote...the first container was about half that size (didn't get a pic of that
