I have a 125 with 2 oscars and a pacu and was wanting to put some snails in for cleaning purposes. I believe I want apple snails but where do I purchase some. I live in NC and today a petstore owner told me it was illegal to sell them which I think is crap. Please let me know if they will even make it in my tank and where can I get some. Thanks Shanezoid.

I have alot of snails I'm selling right now, but I'm not sure about them being illegal? Are you sure all apple snails are illegal? There are many types of apple snails and most are illegal in Cali too. Almost everything is illegal in cali lol. I have Brigs which don't really eat plants plants and they are legal here, and probably legal there as well. I keep them in my planted tank and feed them vegies. They do much some of the leafs but over all it keeps the plants healthier than they would be without them.
I can send a whole flealt to you for $15 Right now I have Gold and Ivories, as long as tehy are legal I'd be happy to help. I can even toss in some plants as well if you want.
Apple snails would be a quick snack in your tank. Your current fish are too aggressive and food oriented to let the snails do any clean up work. You could just break out the gravel vac and algae pad more often
On the legality of the snails. Apples are most often Pomacea canaliculata (mysteries are most often pomacea bridgesii). Due to your climate and the fact that canas are voracious plant eaters it is likely they aren't legal to sell in your state. Canas aren't legal to ship across state lines period due to this.
