what is in my tank? moss or algae

ok i went on a trip and when i got back i found something on one of my vals.

i took it out of my tank and placed it next to jave moss. people kept thinking it was java moss. its diffrent then java moss.

Looks like a type of thread/hair algae. It is not Java Moss.

i dont think its roots. it fell off the val. it wasnt attached.

so far it was only on the tips of 2 vals. i took it off. i hope it stays away.
