I have a friend with a 55g w/ a 7in. water turtle(unknown species) and four 4in. feeder fish. I want to get rid of three and keep one but I don't know if they are schooling fish. I don't want to stress the one out or make it lonely. I need some help with this cause they all(including the turtle)make the tank really dirty. :help: :thud: :help: :thud:

is the feeder your typical comet goldfish? That being the case, you're going to need a very large tank as they get in around and excess of 2 feet.

I'm sorry, that was a rush post. You're right fc, they get from 12-20 inches if kept in the correct conditions.

yeah.. don't worry, I do that, too. I think with the turtle you have enough bio load in there for a lifetime, and getting rid of all the feeders would be best. can you post a pic of the turtle? I might be able to identifly it for you.

the best thing for those fish is to be put in a pond.

thats what i thought, the deep end of the tank is about 6 or 7 inches of water,i know its not enough thats another reason were trying to get rid of them, also i think that there is not enough oxygen because the fish are always at the surface gasping. :(

Not a drainage pond or a lake, only a personal goldfish pond with no outlets.

As was brought up earlier (in another thread) therein lies the problem with this type of communication.

God knows, I've had posts/e-mails taken the wrong way.
