If they are a true adult pair, have a little room (20 gallons or larger tank - although I have had some spawn in a 5g temporary tank) some rock work, good filtration with large water changes, it shouldn't take long - they are the african version of convicts in terms of breeding - pretty much just add water - the fry from earlier spawns will help guard later ones - nice fish - I have a colony right now!

I have a Daffodil colony now as well. The only thing I can add is keep their diet balanced along with the clean water. Mine love frozen bloodworms, glassworms and brine shrimp.

With this latest colony, The female was about 2 1/2 inches and the male about 3 1/2 the first spawn. 9 - 12 months maybe.
