Was running 20 flourenscent bulbs in the hoods on my two 29 gallon tanks. Figured with the plants I have this wasn't enough light.
So stopped by Lowes today and got a 4 foot double tube shoplight, 2 6500 K 40 watt tubes (GE Plant and aquarium) and two pieces of glass; $37.
And ended up with this:
Going to build a wood frame to go around the top of the two tanks to shade my eyes when I'm sitting watching the fishies.
Anyway-a lot brighter, should be twice as much light (old: 2 X 20 watt tubes, now: 2 X 40 watt tubes)
