sorry about the blurry-ness
Is that "Ick" on my catfish? when I bought him he was all black but under his belly, I noticed it awhile after he was brought home. I got some stuff from the store for Ick and have been using it. I never had a fish with it and it just kinda popped up that he had white spots on him. I didnt knwo if ick was white bumps all over them or what, he just kinda looks like he is a speckled looking catfish.

Also, can frozen foods bring in a parisite? or can the frozen bloodworms come to life? Ive never used frozen food and once i did i started to notice everything like that, and some red worm looking things in the gravel. I wasnt to sure about all that , I dont knwo I might sound stupid to some of ya'll but I wasnt sure. I wasnt sure if maybe I just got a bad thing of frozen food or not. thanks

No, they cannot get ich from foods. it comes from physical exposure to the ich parasite.

Please stop using chemical meds with your fish because catfish are scaleless and the meds will more likely harm him than help.

read this article for the ich life cycle and how to treat with salt:

also, frozen bloodworms cannot come to life. They are dead.

Check this site out for info on ich and what it looks like: http://cichlid-forum.com/articles/ich.php

Frozen foods are very safe and shouldn't bring any parasites and they shouldn't come alive either. The freezing process alone should kill pretty much everything in the frozen food. I'm not really sure what those red wormy things you're seeing in your gravel. Someone else here probably knows.

they sound like tubifex worms, but I don't know how you would have got them unless you were using them to feed the fish (live, not frozen). I've found live worms living in my gravel for literally YEARS after I fed them last to the fish.

Ive only used frozen, and it like i dont have anymore gravel because i couldnt get them all out, so i removed it and what not, and i had nothing on the botten then i fed him part of a bloodworm cube and a few hours later there were little red looking worms swiming around, also my fish just has smooth spots, they arnt grainy looking or rised like that artical said... is it still the same thing or something else?
