Am thinking of getting a corydoras catfish to go in my tank with an angelfish, parrot cichlid, and three spot gourami. He would probably do fine but I'm worried that the parrot would be act aggressive toward it. Would this work?

I would not risk it. Depending on how karge your tank is, sounds like a pictus would work. They can hold their own against BPs. I had two in my 55 with my blood parrot and they would give him a run for his money! I used to have a baby flowerhorn in the 55 with the BP, two pictus and a bichir. One day I returned home to find my smaller pictus missing an eye with a gaping wound to his side and my little flowerhorn's side was scratched and his side fin torn badly. With FHs, it does not matter how small they are! This bugger was about the size of a quarter, getting into it with my three inch pictus!!! That was a mistake on my part- the LFS had a tankful of baby flowerhorns for 5$ a piece. I had bought one thinking I would raise it in my 55 and then move him into a larger tank (thinking like this NEVER works in the cichlid game- tank up and cycled FIRST, then pick out the sea beasts.) I ended
up having to move him into an empty 30 by himself, and eventually gave him away to a friend who was loking for a 'centerpiece' fish. My BP recently died of a tumor on his side. The guys at the fish store said it was probaby causing an internal blockage and he unfortunately passed away last month after being my pet for three years.
But these things happen, unfortunately life is lost more than needs to be in the learning process of fishkeeping. :sim: The pictus now is the bully of the tank, defending his cave with no fear. Nevermind the fact he only has one eye - he has his long whiskers and always has a full belly. It took a couple bottles of melafix and about three months total for his eye and the gaping wound to his gill area to heal completely. They are hardy little cats...
