I have well water so I don't need to worry about chlorine but of course still need to condition the water. I've been using Aquarium Pharm Tap Water Conditioner but see that most use Prime it seems. Would Prime still be a good choice if Chlorine isn't a factor?

If your on well water, you shouldn't need to condition the water at all.

Water conditioner is for removing chlorine and maybe chloramine. Assuming yuor well water is safe to drink it will be fine for fish. I would test it for nitrates, ammonia and nitrites but otherwise no need to buy chemicals.

Personally I gae my water (chlorine only) and don't add chemicals unless I have to mix up a quick batch.

The bottle says also it detoxifies heavy metals. My water is soft out of the tap and "0" as far as nitrites, ammonia and nitrates. For some reason I thought the conditioner was for other things. Nice to know I don't have to condition. Thanks.

You don't probably have heavy metals if you water is so soft. Also you probably wouldn't want to drink it. Live plants are better for heavy metals anyway.

Agreed ... You can save money on more fish or equipment that way.

Actually our water is awsome to drink! I even have relatives that come over and bottle it believe it or not. The GH is low but the KH is ok. PH 7.5.

Thanks for the info... I'd rather not have to treat it anyway!!
