I have a medium planted 55 gallon tank.

So I was thinking of adding a few more fish to replace the firemouths that I lost to a parasite infection.

After everything is stable again, do you think a pair of Kribensis cichlids and 3 otos would go well with 3 juvenile firemouths (1 and a 1/2 inches) and some tiger barbs and giant danios?

The other thing is, if I want a Kribensis pair, do I need to start off with like 5 or 6 juveniles to get a pair to form or can I just get a male and female?

Thanks for your help

It may cause problems later. However, if the fish grow up together your chances of them staying relatively peaceful are much better. The barbs, danios and ottos would be ok. But giant danios can get nearly as big as kribs - a school of them would put a lot of strain on the bioload. It may be safer if you have lots to limit it to just the firemouths or just the kribs.

You can probably get a pair of kribs just by picking out a male and female. That's how I got my kribs, and they certainly seem to be a pair, although they're not breeding.
