i need a plant that gets about 6" tall. in my tank it will be going infront of some rotala rotundifolia, next to some crypt lucens (small green crypt) and behind some microsword. i want a plant with NO red on it, since the rotala is already nice and pink.

Lobelia cardinalis. It does grow larger than 6" (not by too much), but growth is very slow.

Dwarf sag. Corkscrew val. Green tiger lotus if the leaves are kept trimmed. Options are limited at Petsmart.

have dwarf sag in another part of the tank, never seen corkscrew val, and i have red tiger lotus in another part of the tank.
i may be able to get my lfs to order something. depends on how much it is, but they can order just about anything that's not illegal

I think anubias nana stays approx. 6 inches.....
can anyone confirm/deny this?

My corkscrew gets a lot taller than that. In the high light tank it gets taller than it is supposed to- ie well over a foot.
ask your LFS if they can order you plants..

TwoTankAmin, my corkscrew val only grew eight inches max under very high light. I wished it would have grown taller though.
RockabillyChick, I was thinking about this some more. A green crypt wendtii or a small rock with some narrow leaf java fern. They will grow a bit more than six inches but hey, that's what the trimming scissors are for. Anubias nana was also a good suggestion.

yes anubias nana can get to 6 inches. i think pygm chain sword would work good too.

i already have bronze crypt wendtii on the other side of the tank, and a small green crypt on the left side. and java fern on my wood. i wanted something with smaller leaves, different shaped than what i've already got. i was thinking some baby's tears would be nice.

I love hygro. difformis personally, and it stays as low as you want it to. You just can't be afraid to let it know who holds the scissors.
