I have a nearly 3" common bristlenose in my 20G breeder tank at the moment (he's on algae control). Anyone know roughly how long it will take him to reach full size (months, years)? Thanks.

fish, unlike mammals, never stop growing. Therefore, he will theoretically never reach maximum size. That said, BN's typically get to adult size at 1 yr. and over the next year get to roughly their full size.

Thanks all. Sounds like it'll be a while before I have to move him.

I saw a 6" common bristlenose the other day, real beauty. I hope my guys don't get that big any time soon.

Ancistrus?

Do you know what kind of Ancistrus it is? or what L # it is?

Not sure of the L#. I'm fairly sure it was Ancistrus Sp. (3). Mine have been identified as sp. (3). It looked exactly like mine but a lot bigger.

A lot of the Ancistrus sp look alike to me, so I could be wrong.
