Posted in one of Palasia's other threads;

>>>>I have a 55 gallon tank with: 3 Mixed Fruit Tetras, 3 Plecos, 4 Zebra Danios, 3 black mollies, 1 dalmation molly, 3 swordtails, a shrimp and 2 guppies (1 is in the breeder net).<<<<

Not sure why the question was posted again.

well, you have a lot of livebearing fish, and they like a good proportion of veggies in their diet, I would reccomend feeding them veggie flakes, which include a higher proportion of vegtable matter then your normal flakes. for the plecos, depending on the types, i'd say algae discs, but make sure you get one with a low proportion ofanimal matter, such as wardley. i've seen some "algae discs" that have more fish meal than actual algae.... (P.S. if your plecos are the normal ones, they will all outgrow your tank unless it is something like 300Gs, and I doubt that.)

Yes I can, but fish need Carbohydrate and cereal provides that.

So can I feed them Cheerios or Corn Flakes, or Bran Flakes or what?

In that case any frozen or live foods you feed will have carbs, I am sure flakes do also.

Please do not feed them human cereal. The foods mentioned above, prepared for different kinds of fish and their needs, are what you want. You may also include cucumber slices, zucchini, lettuce, but remove uneaten food after an hour or two as it will contribute to bioload along with fish poop. Are you doing partial water changes and gravel vacuuming?

Why would you want too?

Feed the fishies FISH food, leave the Human food for us two legged types.

Aside from the veggies aforementioned! :D

yes, prepared fish foods already contain carbohydrates. especially if you use pellets or flakes, you will see that they add such things as wheat flour, soy, corn meal, even potato.
