Hey there

I cycled 8 weeks with 3 guppies, then last Monday I added 1 powder blue dwarf gourami. So he has been in the tank for 8 days. I want to finish the tank with 5 panda corries.

Should I wait two or three weeks before adding the pandas? And should I add 3 corries, then wait 2 or 3 weeks and add the last 2?????? OR just add 5?

Thanks guys.

I am not sure how I am going to feel when I am all done with my set up!! And everything is status quo. I can see how MTS can start!!!

Guppy Gal

3 male gupps
1 dwarf gourami male
temp 77
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
ph 7.2

you have given the bacteria plenty of time to grow to handle the heavier load created by the last fish. Cories are small. add them all. just test the waer to be certain.

a bacterial colony can only grow as large as the source of ammonia. Once established the stuff does grow with some speed. But, you should always wait a few days to add more fish after the last addition(s).

I think that may be too many cories as they are bottom dwellers and so will be pretty crowded. This is even more apparent when you add in all the decorations in the tank. You also have to remember that they will grow. If anything just get 3 of them or go for pygmy cories.

Hey Sammie, thanks for the input! I am going to look into dwarf/pygmy cories Vs pandas.

Right now I am still trying to determine if I have a sick gourami!! I think I saw white fuzz on him today and white poop! The fuzz fell off his feeler so maybe that was just gunk - white poop not sure if it was a fluke! So here I sitting waiting for my fish to poop again!!
