i need to know am i overstocked i have a 20 gallon tank with an angel a betta 7 guppies 2 dwarf corys and a rubberlip something

lol that sounds like my tank! Only I dont have a betta and I have kuhli loaches instead of cories. The rupperlip is a pleco, and yes you are overstocked I would remove the betta and the cories or just the angelfish and add another cory. Cories are a schooling fish and need groups of at least 3. Do you have a long or a high tank? Angelfish need a tall tank so a 20 long will not do.

Unfortunately I have to agree that seems overstocked. Angelfish get too big for a 20 gallon. I have heard a 30 gallon is the minimum for one. The flying fox will also get too big for that size tank. If I were in your position, I'd try to find a way to move those two fish out of that tank.

I and somebody else asked about angelfish on this board a few months back and the general concensus was that a 20 high would be OK for just 1, but that a long would not be tall enough.

That being said John your tank is definetly overstocked. Not sure on the flying fox but I think they are fast swimmers and need lots of space that's why 20 gallons is not enough.

I agree, the tank is overstocked. Also be warned you might end up having problems with the betta and guppies. If they are all males the betta may mistake them for other male Bettas and fight. If this is the case you will want to remove either the Betta or the Guppies. The Angel will not work in that tank. By itself it is possible but not really recommended. Cories also like to be in small groups of 5 or more. They will live fine with only a couple but they will become more active and happy when in a small group.

For right now I would say the Angel for sure will need to be removed. Depending on the Betta and Guppy situation you may want to also remove the Betta. I would say the Pleco should be ok and I would add at least 2 more of the same type cories.
