Ok, I’m looking to get a water test kit, primarily for a marine/reef setup.
What is the most complete test kit?
What is the best test kit?
What is the best test brand?
Is the Tetra test kit any good? And how would you rate it compared to other test kits?
And are these kits suitable for freshwater as well?

"The best" are laboratory-grade kits like Hach and LaMotte. But I doubt you'd want to (or be able to) pay a for these.

Salifert is that standard amongst most experienced SW hobbyists. They cost a bit more than the standard Tetra/Hagen kits, but are far more accurate and easy to read. Seachem also makes a good line as well.

If you're really serious, you'd an aquarium controller with probes for pH, salinity, etc for constant monitoring.

Thank you so much for your response. Well the Salifert is currently out of my budget for the time being. But I’ll probably end up buying their kits as I need them. I did look for the Seachem marine kit after I called them on the phone. Unfortunately I cannot find them readily available. So I think Im gonna have to go with the Tetra kit till I can get my hands on a better kit as its needed in a emergency situation for my fresh water tank 3 hours away.
The controllers is something I have also been considering in the future as well. Just not quite yet. How accurate are these and how well to they perform? How long do they last as well?
