Looking for good sandwich ideas!

I once had a turkey sandwich that was pretty much Thanksgiving dinner between two slices of....arg! Cant remember the bread! Now its gonna bug me all night..... Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potato salad, a few leaves of spinach. Mmmmm.
Or how about a meatloaf dinner on wheat? Bring in a couple of sides, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots and whathaveyou.
My husband swears by tuna and salami on wheat toast, but hes a little odd sometimes!

You cant beat rare roast beef

This is called a Hobo, and it is one of the best sandwiches you'll ever make.. Served cold.

bottom piece of bread
oil/vinegar on the bread (must use a hard roll type bread, otherwise the o/v just sogs it all up.. This sandwich is so substantial that something hard needs to be used. Otherwise, it all just falls apart.)
ham (rolled)
pastrami (rolled)
hard salami (rolled, if ya can)
sandwich pepperoni (rolled, if ya can)
provolone
tomato
red onion
shredded lettuce
oil/vinegar
miracle whip (needs the twang so it can be tasted, plain mayo can't compete with all the other flavors.. I hate miracle whip but it's great on this sandwich..)
top piece of bread (I like white, but rye or wheat work too)

You can use one of those sandwich flavoring oil/vinegar things too, with the herbs in it.. I like making my own with o/v loaded with basil, a touch of garlic and a pile of oregano.. For a lower fat/calorie version, you can get turkey versions of all the meats, and light miracle whip is virtually indistinguishable from the high octane stuff.

Another personal favorite has always been....

rye bread (white works in a pinch)
pile of shaved turkey
mozeralla
black olives
touch of mayo to lube it up nicely..
pepperoncini on the side..

One I don't care for, but I make a killer one.... (my mom owned a deli for a while, so I got pretty good at this..)

buttered texas toast
steak-um/philly steak/shredded roast beef
green pepper ring (1/2" - 3/4" thick before grilling)
mushrooms
montery jack/pepper jack on top and bottom of everything

Grill that sucker till the bread browns and everything wilts/goos together with the cheeze.. I'm not a fan of the mushrooms myself, but otherwise it's a killer sammich.

how about an Italian sausage sandwich?? ?

you'll need:

-Sausage,
-onions,
-Italian fresh panini, (hard on the outside, soft on the inside.. you can usually find them frozen and partially raw, and just heat them up in the morning)
-green peppers
-Eggplants in oil & vinegar,
-hot peppers in oil,
-tomatoes,
-lettuce,
-spices of your choice.

- Cut a sausage in half, (along the long part) and fry it
- slice lots of onions and fry them till they're soft and golden in color

- Fry some green peppers,

- put the sausage in a fresh Italian panini, add lots of onions and a few green peppers,

- add the eggplants (under oil and vinegar) and hot peppers

- top it with some lettuce and tomatoes,

- add salt, pepper, and spices (if needed),




And voila, you'll have an awesome Italian sandwich!!!


I'm getting hungry!!!

I just love that dip with crab, cream cheese and cocktail sauce you eat with crackers. I made up a sandwich with those ingredients, and if you use low fat cream cheese and fake crab it's low cal too.
I use a tortilla shelll or flat bread, spread with cream cheese, then cocktail sauce. Add chunks of crab and shredded lettuce and chopped green onion and wrag and eat. MMM

Roast Beef with gravy and sauteed onions

Roast chicken breast with spinach and coleslaw

Cook boneless chicken breasts on grill with favorite bbq sauce.
Cover with sliced colby or cheddar cheese.
Spoon on sauted onions just before serving.

If you put it on bread, it becomes a sandwich.
