There's dozens of products out there that will help with Ick, but I was wondering if there's any kind of house hold remedy with dealing with Ick. I'm merely just curious. Thanks.

Well, if you REALLY wanted to risk it, you could slowly raise the temperature of your tank to over 80 degrees ^_^; Though, caution should be held..many fish probably die from the higher temps

( my 100 is always on 82 degrees...because my RENA CALs wont go lower >_<! but I've never had a problem with ich! )

Well I have two small Iridescent (catfish) Sharks, one has Ick and I do know they make Ick medications, some for scale and scale less fish( mine are scaless), and I don't have the right kind for them, and won't be able to get any until tommorrow. My temp is around 79-80 degrees usually. Is raising the temp suspose to help? The one has had Ick, I'm assuming since I got him which was Saturday, but I didn't notice it until yesturday.

You could raise the temp to around 85 over the course of a few hours and add some salt. Best way to treat ich without medicine.

I have a few Iridescent Sharks that had ick recently. One was covered more so than the others. Used Aquari-sol and raised temp to 84-86. Make sure you have additional means for oxygenation. (extra air stone) Worked like a charm, didn't lose any fish.

Some medications state to simply use 1/2 dose for scaleless or sensitive fish. I've used full dose (added 1/2 now, 1/2 4 hours later) to "sensitive" fish (tetras, loaches) and had no problems. After the initial acclimation, I simply dosed at full strength the following days. Water chemistry differs so be cautious (watch the fish!) if you do this.

Thanks for the feedback, my Iridescent's still seem happy and skittish, which is quite normal for them. I'm going to try the salt remedy for a little while, and see what happens.
