i have a 85 gal tank that has a hole drilled into the back about 3 inch down from the top. what is the best way to fix it. my thought was to glue glass on both sides. any ideas would be great.
Well depending on the size of the whole there are a couple different things that can be done. The first is if the hole is the same size, you could take a plastic cap from a UGF place it in the hole then put some sealent on the inside and outside of it. You could always try the glass on the inside and outside but it will look pretty tacky. Also check out your LFS sometimes they sell plugs just for this purpose. Just a couple ideas for you to try.
its about a 1 inch hole. its going to be a planted tank so there will be plants in front of it so it prob wont be able to see it. ill have to check the lfs also.
Put a plug in the bulkhead fitting to seal it up, then you can fill it all the way up. the bulkhead fittings use standard pipe thread inside and you can get a plastic plug, use a little silicone plumbers grease to seal the threads.
bpimm you hit the nail on the head. This is what I was thinking but could not remember the correct terms for some reason. Thank you for posting the info.
