Heyya folks. I was curious as to whether or not to supplement my 30 with iodine. Right now there's about 14 lbs of LR and 2 skunk shrimp. Hopefully come Friday I'll add another 10 lbs of LR, another skunk shrimp, and a dozen or so red legged hermits. Any to supplement for iodine here? I already add the Kent Trace Elements and so far, between that and my tap water, the bottle of Ca I bought is just collecting dust (I had a hard time getting it to go down, now testing at 450 ppm). Just your thoughts everybody. Thank you.

I wouldn't if I were you. Iodine is tricky and if overdosed can be a huge problem. I assume you're looking to add it for the benefit of your new shrimp, but they'll be fine without. You should have no problem maintaining iodine levels with just water changes. It's a trace element, and not much is needed at all. I dose Lugol's in one of my tanks, but it's got a heavy octocoral load and needs some supplementation. Where you stand right now you shouldn't need it. Juz my opinion, of course.
