i have a 37 gal. with 5 red-eye tetras in it right now, after it is cycled, i want to put in:

2 german blue rams
1 pearl gourami
1 dwarf gourami
2 dojo loaches
1 yellow lab

and possibly: pleco, angel, snail, butterfly fish, ropefish

is the yellow lab ok, and which of the possible species will work?

thanks

are you considering an african butterfly fish? I believe these are predatory and may eat smaller tank mates.

bolivian rams have aslo been called butterfly ram.
I believe rope fish get large and will require about 70-80 gallons and my do better in groups.

angels and some gouramis are not a good mix. the dwarf may be okay but I have some reservations about the pearl but it may be okay
whart species of pleco?? i wouldn't suggest a common but may loook for a rubberliped ot a bn

IME, three spot gouramis will really let smaller gouramis like dwarf have it, resulting in a deformed spine (and ultimately death) on the dwarf's part. From what I've been reading, pearl gouramis as well as moonlight gouramis have a simmilar temperment to the three spot gourami, so dwarf gourami+pearl gourami is probably going to get ugly.

Yellow lab would be a no, becuase of water prefferences and it's temperment. It's size also suggest a no as well. I'm also pretty sure they also prefer to be kept in groups.

Every species on the possible list, except the snails and some species of plecos would for the most part be a no.
