Hello all,

I'm in the process of doing my homework :read: for my 1st SW tank. Is it me or does everyone feel like for every answer I get, it breeds 2 more questions ?!?!?

Anywho... I am starting with a sump/skimmer question (more to come i'm sure)

I have a 75 gal tank that will be FOWLR and I want to put a sump w/skimmer underneath.

First, whats a good suggested size for the sump?

Second, what skimmer brands would you recomend? Or perhaps I should ask which ones are NOT recomended. I've heard little to nothing good about Jebo and Seaclone brands...

Anyone care to add to that list?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Hello? Is this thing on? No wait let me guess, this question has been as asked a few times too many... I think I know what skimmer I want anyways.

But I still would like some input about sump size.

The biggest sump you can fit with room to work with... most go with a 20gl or 20 long tank for a 75 I think.

Second I have just done all the research on the skimmers and came up with Euro-Reef is the best and everyone copies them, but they are way to expensive. The next best which copies the euro-reef is ASM... I am going to buy the ASM G2 for my 90 gallon and that would also work for you.

I have not used any skimmer just heard from people and read forums from people that have used all. Do not listen to the Reef shop near you because they will tell you the best is the one that they sell. I suggest ASM G2 for you. If you want the next step down I have heard that coralife supper skimmer is good. (not as good as ASM though)

Hope that helps

Thanks mike!

Well I guess Im on the right track :thm: because the ASM and the super skimmer were my 2 of my top choices, which makes me feel like I'm kinda getting the hang of things.

Now, any advice on how to talk "HER" into letting me buy a $270.00 skimmer?!?!? Just wait till she finds out how much we'll have to spend for MH lighting

Oh, and Euroreef has also come out with a new line of skimmers at the ASM price point as well! It's called the "RS" series.

I appreciate the advice, I truly do.

But...

Bubble King 200 Internal
