its true just by the time you fill your tank up any chlorine that was in the water will kill the benificial bacteria and pretty much reset your cycle

I would like to find out what type of bacteria are used. The only product I know to cantain the right bacteria is bio-spira. If the eco-complete is not refridgerated, or somehow treated to feed the bateria, thw bacteria will die before you get it into the tank. Other than that, It seems it should do what it says.

You are asumeing he has city water for one and all you have to do is use water conditioner to remove any clorine from the water. Weater it works or not I can't really say. As far as I know the bacteria that actually is in the freshwater cycle can only live for extend periods of time if it is chilled.
