Alright, I'm clueless. Last night, I KNOW I had two Rosy Barbs, I mean why wouldn't I have them, I've had them since I started my tank (actually it was initially 3 but one died due some internal tumor type thing). This evening, I came home from work, set up a new betta tank and then turned my attention to my 10 gal. Much to my shock, there is now only one Rosy Barb. The tank has albino cories, danios (going to be rehomed), and tetras. None of my current fish are aggressive, the tetras can be a little nippy..but to devour an entire Barb? Hard to fathom.

I searched the carpet under and around my tank and there was no sign of this fish. Under the lid, inside the filter, my gravel vac - just in case! No fish..

How can that be? Anyone else just have a fish go missing? Other than a neon?

Did he burrow into the gravel?

I didn't notice any tales sticking out of the gravel..I'll look some more, hopefully he's just hiding somewhere under some plants. I'm going to throw in some bloodworms and see if he makes an appearance. This is freaky.

Does your tank stand have an open back to it? One of our new female swordtails jumped out the back in the open space by the filter down the back of the tank and landed inside the tank stand. That is where we finally found her yesterday. Not a pretty site. I posted yesterday looking for idea's on the best way to close up the areas around the filter but didn't get much response. Hope you find your Rosy Barb.

I had a guppy go into the holes on the underside of some tank decorations. Had to shake him out to find him!

Found him. Apparently during my water change, he somehow catapulted (I believe the other fish, probably the Danios, threw him out of the tank and he landed about 10 feet away from the tank near the couch. I found him this morning when I was closing the windows in my apartment before I left for work. I put my foot down and felt something - looked down and found him crispy crittered on the carpet. What a terrible way to start my day!
