Does anyone run an Aqua C remora pro with the surface skimmer box? I run the pro with the mag3 and that thing is a bear to hide in the tank. Currently I have some tubing ran down to it and its hidden behind the rockwork. I was looking into the surface box but I thought I would ask the opinion of the forum here. Does it make it more efficient? The box seems pretty big too, it might look terrible in the tank. Tank is a 75ga.

The box is honkin' big and has difficulty dealing with changing water levels.
If you're looking to deal with micro-bubbles, I ditched mine in favour of a filter sponge with a slit cut down the center and slipped over the outflow lip.
It does, however, have a small media chamber.

I don't have a problem with microbubbles, and I use my rena XP3 for chemical filtration. I was just looking for something more aesthetic than my current setup. I don't like the tubing running up and down the back of the tank as it is. I figured if it helped with the filtration and didn't look too bad, I would get it. Its $45 for a box though, so I am still questioning its effectiveness.
Thanks for the immediate response, it is appreciated.

i have a 75 gallon tank and i love my remora pro. i also have the mag 3 pump and i do have the surface box. the box definetly makes the skimmer much more efficient. it produces probably at least 1 1/2 times more skimmate with the surface box attatched. it is pretty big but it hides all the ugle tubes and stuff. definetly worth the $45 IMO.

I also us the remora pro on a 75g with the skimmer box. I drilled 4 holes and attached suction cups to hold it in place as those stupid screws don't really work that well. I find that with steady water levels it works great.....wouldn't trade it .....i also have used the small media chamber to place rowaphos etc.....

thanks everybody, you've made my decision easier. I am going to order it this weekend. Hopefully it will help with the surface layer. I think that it makes the tank look bad, and I would rather fix it then cover it up with movement.
