My Pictus Cat got stuck behind a rock and when we relesed him he seemed much worse for the wear. He seems a bit scratched-up (slightly freyed tail and dorsal fin), moving slower, not eating as ardently and one of my biggest concerns---one of his eyes is cloudy. He is currently in a monderately agressive cichlid tank and, shockingly, being left alone bymuch e veryone.

I'm pretty new to this so I was hoping somone would please let me know how I should treat him. Many thanks in advance.

Change the water, make sure the nitrates stay below 15-20ppm.

Keep an eye for redness, swelling, fuzzyness, or streaks.

If you have melafix and pimafix dose those according to the directions and make sure to remove any carbon.

Fins heal quickly in clean water, but theres a chance (with a PH above 7.0 it's more common) he could get fungus.

A bacterial infection is more likely if the damage is deep enough.

Was he smashed or just stuck? Internal bleeding would be something you can't solve and I'd recommend a humane euthinisation of the fish with clove oil emulsified in water followed by vodka once the fish has fallen asleep.

Good luck, test the water ASAP, and look out for signs of infection!
