Well recently I started a full time job and havn't been able to tend to my tank as much.

However I decided this afternoon would be a good time to do some tidying up, with my recent addition of Co2 I thought my plants may have looked a bit healthier.

I don't know if they are healthier but they have grown LOTS!!

Since I only have low lighting and DIY Co2 I have a fair few Java ferns and Java Moss.

I now have approximately 50 Baby java ferns growing off my adult ones, and another 50 more starting to produce little roots.

I started with around 2 balls of Java moss about 5 cms wide. Now I would have enough to fill my hospital tank entirely (almost 10 gallons)

I took out a bit but there is still so much of it, I've begun putting it in my other tank so fishes can shelter under it.

When my digital camera arrives (annoying Australia Post) I will take pictures.

What does everyone do with all these extra plants??

Our long-standing rule at this site it to send ALL extra plants to djlen.......asap!! Seriously, why don't you take them to your LFS.
Many times they will give you a credit on future purchases.
OOOOOrr, you can send all extras to......djlen.

i generally transfer plants to other tanks, or, if i am out of space and am planning no new set-ups in near future, ...gibber.....throw them out (sorry...took alot for me to say that).

I wish you lived over here. I can't get a java fern anywhere.

yeah, just throw them out if you have no where to put them...there really isnt use for access plants. if you can, though, sell them. that would be a better investment.

MOst LFS will happily take excess plants from hobbiests. They are usually healthier and in better shape than they can get from their wholesalers (they are not packed in wet newsprint, in boxes for days). Don't throw them out, get some store credit. The stores will turn around and sell them for up to 3x what they gave you anyway, so everyone makes out.
