well i bought some slate rocks at homedepot and some of them had a lil mud how do i make the rocks safe foe my aquarium?
 
you cant go wrong with boiling them.
 
how long for each rock
 
Until the yolk gets hard... ;-) Just kidding, I just added some rocks to my set up as well and I was told to boil them for 10 minutes. They have been in there for about a week now and I havent had problems.
 
you can also use a mild bleach solution and then put them in a tub of water and add dechlor.

Usually rocks from the home depot or landscape shops i just rinse and throw in, but I guess I'm brave.
 
yeah i put them in and they look great


no problems SO FAR
 
ive been a bit crazy over the years and just got rocks that i like from outside. rinsed them and droped them in no problems but my branches i always boil for a while.
