Just got one yesterday, and he's loving his new digs! He's small but has got one tough little face on him! Anyway, in the store he looked pretty pale, like a very light pastel yellow, and today he seems to be a bit brighter in color. Maybe this sounds dumb but could it be because he's "happy"? On another thread I posted that when under stress my blackskirts "skirts" get really pale, almost clear and when everythings good it goes back to deep black. Do you think this is feasable with my Ram?
Also, on the same note, since giving my dwarf gourami freezedried bloodworms every now and then, his colors have really popped! Is there a special treat I can give my Ram so he'll display his color in all its glory? Thanks for reading!

He's definately brighter because he's happier, not stressed anymore, and isn't in a crowded tank. To make him even happier and brighter I would suggest looking online for frozen/refridgerated food that is good for Rams. I don't know exactly what Rams like for food, but that will definately help. I have Von Rio Tetras in my tank right now and alot of people overlook them in the store because they're usually pale and not attractive, but once you get them home they turn incredibly bright.

rams like variety in their diet.
frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, flake etc
also watch your water..rams ramirezi prefer clean water. also what is the temp of your tank. rams seem to do wel in warm water (82)

I agree, he's definately happy :) I have 2 butterfly rams and 2 firemouth cichlids and their colours are fab when the lights are out. They love bloodworm and flake food.

Thanks all! Waters just right for the little guy! Appreciate all the feedback!
