It's been a while since I've visited the forum. I have a 45 gallon aquarium that has been taken over by a six inch red tail shark. He has killed off two of my three seven inch Guaramis and the third is soon to go. I know this is selfish but I can't just get rid of them. Once the last Guarami is gone though, the red tail has got to go. That tank is just too big for one fish. I think a local fish store will take him. Now for the question, I really like watching the guaramis when they move so gently across the top of the tank but after about three years they started getting viscious too. What could I put in this tank that would look good and relaxing but not turn on the other fish? It is a big tank and I don't want to run into the same problems again. The guaramis and the red tail have killed other sharks, tiger barbs, guaramis, and anything other than the pleco I've put in the tank.

Sorry for being so wordy.

How about something built around a pair of angels, albeit I'd prefer if you had a 55. Or some rams? Or maybe three different schools of tetras?

RTS are mean. i would get rid of him before he kills the other fish. i had one that i end up putting in its own tank cuz it killed or tired to kill everything.

Thanks. I think I'll have to get rid of the RTS but the Guarami is really unfriendly as well.

If you do not like the gourami anymore for the same reasons as the red tail shark then give him away too and start fresh with some peaceful fish. A couple of schools of tetras would look very pretty swimming through the plants or possibly some colorful livebears. Either one of these groups would be very relaxing to watch after a long day.
