WHITBY, ONTARIO CANADA!
Hey guys i know corys are friendly and like to play, but two of my three corys are worryin me because they are shootin around the tank running into each other pretty violently i meen one minute they will be swimming fast around the tank beside each other and then they will do the whole cartoon like thing where they attack each other running into each other in one big flash of a ball! if it helps they both look different from the other cory (i think they are males)

THANKS

P.S. they seem to start doin it out of no where one minute they are feeding and then it starts stops and then starts up again

Corys are funny! I also have bronze corys and they are very skittish--still getting used to the new tank layout, but they are fine if I am sitting acrross the room and I can watch them dance and occasionally shoot to the surface and chase each other--I've even seen them run into Georgie the gourami! They also sit practically one on top of the other in the back cave/corner when they get spooked by movements, but they quickly return to playing/picking through the gravel.

How long have your corys been doing this funny dance? I've heard that female corys aneaus are bigger then males--thicker bodied. How big are your corys? Do you have pictures? Do they seem to be hurting each other when they run into each other?

I agree cories are usally pretty active. If they were just sitting around I would be worried. The tank itself may not have enough room for them to move around. If you have alot of decor this might be the problem. I have 6 pepper cories and they zoom all around my tank and at time will bumnp into each other. They will even ram into my Blue Acara Cichlids. As long as they are not getting hurt by it then there is not alot to worry about. Look at them and make sure they don't have any cuts or odd marks on them. Also make sure they have not lost there Feelers, I can't remember the proper name. If they don't have cuts or odd marks and eat and swim normal then there shouldn't be really anything to worry about.

Sounds like spawning activity to me. You should see it when you have a bunch of them. Corys are grpoup spawners naturally but they will spawn as just a pair also.
