I agree. They are difficult to feed and often starve in the home aquariums. Te major problem is that they die in the tank long before you notice it and it's often too late by the time you do... your parameters are all out of control and your fish suffer. I would say it's just not worth it.
your better off going with an apple/mystery/ramshorn or two and 3-5 ghost/cherry/amano shrimps. shrimps a betta might or might not eat, depends on the personality of the betta. but shrimps and snails make a good clean up crew.
