I need help!! I bought a beutiful pair of chocolate marble angels and have waited for what seems like forever for them to lay eggs....actually it took about a month. Anyways, 2 days ago they layed their eggs on the heater..another angel started eating their eggs so i removed all f the angels except the pair....but to my dismay, my very large pleco went up the heater and ate all of the eggs!!! They are in a 55 gallon and now it is just the 2 angels, the pleco, and a red tailed black shark...what do i need to add or remove from this tank to improve the chances of their next eggs, and does anyone know how long it will take for them to lay eggs again??

well for one thing i would move the heater or something. you dont want them to lay the eggs on the heater. another thing is it takes angelfish some times a few times to work out how to do it right. angelfish lay eggs every couple weeks so it wont be long. your best bet is to keep them alone.

what i hear other breeders do is take everything out until they lay the eggs on the slate. they keep laying the eggs on the same thing. once they lay the eggs where you want them to you can put everyint back in. i would move it and see if that changes anything. i would get a thing of slate in hopes they can lay the eggs on it. thats something you can remove. if you really want to get the eggs to hatch you should remove it. another thing to think of is do you have the room to deal with the fry? do you have room to grow them out? what are you going to do with them?
