I have a very small rubberlipped pleco. I think he is stuck in a piece of driftwood he was in there before. I have not seen him on a couple of weeks when I cleaned the tank I took out all of the decorations and still could not find him. Is it possible he is stuck? If he is dead in there what should I do? I dont think another fish ate him but it is possible. The tank is 55 gallons with

9 mbuma cichlids and 5 featherfin synondontis.

Ouch! gotta feel sorry for that little guy. Was he small enough to get eaten by one of your africans? He couldn't be stuck in the filter could he? I used to have some Khuli loaches that would always disappear and then when I would clean my tank they'd be swimming around in the HOB filter. just a thought. Good luck!

I removed the drift wood and still could not find him I did this before and he came out. He is not small enouth to fit in the filter intake I dont think maybe he got eaten I dont know he was small enough I think for my cichlids of catfish to eat him maybe. I was just hoping he is not dead in that driftwood or dying. I guess if he is nature will take its course.

EEW................Someday we will all look back at this situation and laugh. But for now.......EEW

Check your parameters, you should have a spike if there is a rotting fish in the water. Hopefully he will reappear!!
I have been doing water tests in between my weekly water changes and everything looks good so far. maybe He will show up i will try looking in the driftwood again at the next water change it seems like he would have dide by now though if he was stuck in there.

well still cant find the little guy I am assuming he got eaten. Did a water change and removed everything even took the driftwood outside and took the hose too it still no sign of the little guy. I dont think he is dead he would of came out. well he was probabally a good snack for one of the other fish.

 Do you have a cat? :D
