Depends, on the rock some of it's mostly hollow spaces with just a little rock and a whole bunch of hollow spaces some of it's solid as a brick. So, to sort of answer your question for the light you could probably get like 5 lbs in a 10 gallon reef and leave pleanty of room for the fish for the heavy it might take up to 15 lbs for the same sized pile.
