Hello,
I have a couple of questions about setting up a sump/refugium for my 55 gal almost reef tank.
I have a 55 below it on a dual stand and I am thinking about using it as a refugium.
First, is a sump that is the same size as the main tank over kill?
I am planning on using an overflow box instead of drilling the tank. would a dual drain box be best?
Any suggestions on a good return pump that won't leave me eating ramin noodles for a month would be appreciated? I will also section off the lower tank to place a prefilter for the pump and keep DSB and a lot of macro algea and some live rock. From what I've read it doesn't seem like a very difficult venture to add a sump and I am mainly looking for a few suggestions on the easiest way to do it and equimpent advice, Big Al's probably.
I need to add salt volume to this tank so I can put off converting my 120 gal freshwater tank.:)
